Associated PressGov. Bob Riley and Attorney General Troy King have agreed to meet Wednesday to discuss electronic bingo, a topic that has consumed the state for much of the year.
Pending that meeting, King said he will not comment on the ruling issued to by Jefferson County Circuit Judge Robert S. Vance Jr. Vance ordered King to take over Riley’s task force on illegal gambling.
Riley and King, once political allies, have split over their views of electronic bingo. Riley maintains that the machines used to play the games are illegal slot machines. King contends that the game of bingo is allowed to be played electronically and the machines used to play it are legal.
