Criminal Justice Prof Estimates $130,000 for Bingo Hall raids

In a time when the state is strapped for cash the Governor is going on a personal crusade to get rid of the “evil” that he sees as Bingo Halls across the state.

According to University of Alabama criminal justice professor, David Forde, the governor’s little stunt cost the taxpayers $130,000 for ONE operation.

The operation was called into action even though legal obstacles blocked both planned raids. Professor Forde stated that he doesn’t believe the two massive operations Friday morning were worth the cost or time involved.

Bingo Bob’s communications director, Jeff Emerson, said the troopers were doing their job to enforce the law.

“No matter what it costs, the law must be enforced,“ Emerson said.

{editors note} “doing their job to enforce the law”, Hmmm a law that was written so vague that it can be interpreted to suit any purpose. Seems I remember the “doing their job” excuse being used at a certain trial in the late 40’s in Europe.
