Robert Bentley, R-Tuscaloosa, believes Gov. Bob Riley received money from Mississippi Indian casino interests in his first run for governor, The TimesDaily reports.
Bentley made the comments while appearing on a Huntsville-based radio show, a part of his campaign for the 2010 Republican nomination for governor.
The TimesDaily’s M.J. Ellington writes:
“Do I think the money actually flowed from Mississippi into the governor’s campaign? There is no doubt in my mind that it did,” Bentley said after completing the radio interview. “If you check the records from the campaign back then, it came into Alabama. But he may not even have known that he got it.”
Bentley said he was not accusing the governor of any wrongdoing.
“As long as our laws are the way they are in Alabama, it is legal, and PAC-to-PAC contributions make it hard to track it,” he said.
He pointed to congressional hearings into campaign contributions for the 2002 campaigns as a source of his opinion. People testified under oath that money went to Alabama for the campaign, he said . . .
“The accusations all come from the same source, the people who want to legalize gambling,” (Riley spokesman Todd) Stacy said. “He never took any Indian casino money. The governor was asked. He said it did not happen.”

WE know what he said but he’s also a known liar and crooked politician. I guess by having Stacy say it the Boob is not lying,only getting someone to do it for him.
how could he not know he got the money ….If I suddenly was able to pay for thing I would not normally have been able to pay for I think I would be questioning the acquisition of the funding to begin with . Then I would wonder how much I got and how much I got left to spend.
In Dec. 2002 William Worfel vice chairman of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana told the chief of a Miss. tribe to get the gov. of Alabama elected referring to Rile so he could keep gaminf out of the state of Al. because it would hurt his business in Miss. he told them to give Riley 13,000,000 dollars for his campaign . That is when Bush, Karl Rove,and Mccain covered up the email during the senate investigation.Scanlon and Abramoff was all involved in this now Riley is obligated to them for the money thats why all the raids are going on not because its a rule of law but nothing but greed on Rileys part by the way he probably came out of his mama telling lies thats what he i good at .
